After a single semester at the University, Contractor went to an open call audition for the play Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the lead role. The play received rave reviews and her performances during the 92 performances that the play was voted the production of the year by Canadian reviewers in 2002. The actor was invited to join Stratford's conservatory course, in which only eight males and four women are accepted for a course lasting 20 weeks in classical theatre, which she was eager to take. Contractor got a place in the next season of plays and landed the part as Hermia as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
